Ketamine at Dynamic Ketamine

Dynamic Ketamine and Infusions specializes in ketamine treatment for various mental health conditions and chronic pain. We provide IV ketamine to individuals struggling with unipolar depression, bipolar depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and alcohol use disorder, who have not responded to other treatments. Our clinic is dedicated to helping you find relief.

Ketamine is a commonly used anesthetic and dissociative agent that improves symptoms of various mental illnesses when administered at low doses in a controlled environment.

Ketamine interacts with certain receptors in the brain, particularly the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, and also influences glutamate production. These mechanisms are believed to contribute to its rapid antidepressant and mood-stabilizing effects. Ketamine improves brain plasticity to help you feel differently.

Ketamine treatment has shown promising results in managing treatment-resistant depression, treatment-resistant anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar depression, OCD, alcohol use disorder, and certain chronic pain conditions.

Ketamine is generally considered when conventional treatments have proven ineffective or when a rapid intervention is needed due to the severity of symptoms. Your healthcare provider will assess your individual case to determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

Ketamine can be administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) depending on the patient’s condition and preferences. Our experienced medical team will guide you through the administration process, ensuring your comfort and safety.

When administered in a clinical setting by trained medical professionals at low doses used for psychiatric and pain conditions, ketamine treatment is generally considered safe. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. Our team conducts thorough screenings and monitors your progress throughout the treatment.

Common side effects may include temporary dissociation, changes in perception, dizziness, and nausea. These effects usually subside shortly after treatment.

The number of sessions varies based on individual needs. Most patients will need a series of six treatments to determine response. Thereafter, you may be recommended treatments at a reduced frequency to maintain ketamine benefits. Your treatment plan will be personalized to achieve the best outcomes.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality care that you deserve. Although we do not take insurance at this time, we can provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance.

Ketamine treatment may not be suitable for individuals with certain psychiatric conditions such as psychosis (i.e. schizophrenia) or the manic phase of bipolar disorder. It may not be suitable for some medical conditions, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, active substance use, or certain heart conditions. A comprehensive medical evaluation will help determine your eligibility.

To get started, you can schedule a consultation with our medical team. During the consultation, we will assess your medical history, discuss your current condition, and determine if ketamine treatment is a suitable option for you.

In many cases, patients can continue their current medications alongside ketamine treatment. However, some medications have been shown to reduce the benefits of ketamine. Specifically, we recommend that you do not take benzodiazepines on the day of your ketamine treatment. Our medical team will review your medications and make recommendations based on your specific situation.

During a treatment session, you will be comfortably seated or lying down in a quiet and soothing environment. The medication will be administered, and you will be closely monitored throughout the session.

While individual responses vary, many patients report experiencing improvements shortly after the first few sessions, sometimes in the first 1-2 sessions. However, it will take at least 6 sessions at twice weekly to determine if ketamine is a treatment that will continue to benefit you. Each patient gets an individualized treatment plan.
